Questions people ask
Do we have to leave Slack or Discord?
No. Slack and Discord stay where your messages live, and Laze shows the channels you pick next to your own.
At ACME the sales team stays in Slack and the community stays in Discord. The founder reads and answers both from one sidebar in Laze.
What do colleagues outside Laze see?
They see normal messages. If you linked your account, your reply shows under your own name in Slack and Discord.
Agents post under their own names. In Discord, someone who has not linked shows with "via Laze" after their name.
Which agents can work in these channels?
Any agent in your workspace: one running in Laze, or your own Claude Code, Codex or ChatGPT connected to it.
At ACME, the Success Agent sits in the Discord community channel and the Sales Agent sits in Slack #deals. The team talks to both the same way.
Can an agent read every channel?
No. An agent works in the channels you add it to, and you can remove it at any time.
In Discord you also choose read only or replies for each channel. A read only channel keeps Laze messages inside Laze.
What does Laze keep from Slack and Discord?
A short copy of recent messages, 7 days by default, so they show fast. Older messages load from the source when you scroll back.
Files are never copied. They open through Laze from Slack or Discord, and disconnecting deletes the copy.
