Get paid sooner without chasing every invoice yourself
Your finance agent matches payments, chases invoices and flags what needs a person.
What the finance agent does
It works in your #finance channel and reports every day you ask.
Match payments to invoices
It reads the bank feed and asks about unclear payments.
Remind, in the right thread
It drafts replies where the customer last wrote and tracks promises.
Flag what needs a person
It drafts what it can and hands the rest to a person.
A week with the finance agent
How it runs at ACME, a made-up freight software company.
Overnight: payments matched
It matches 41 bank payments and asks about one partial payment.
Morning: reminders out
It drafts 23 reminders, Ines sends them in one tap, and it logs promised dates.
A hold
Ines asks to call first, so it holds the final notice.
A portal
A person saves a portal login once, and it uploads the invoices.
Set it up in three steps
Each step links to its page in the docs.
- Quickstart
Open a channel and add an agent
Create #finance, add an agent and describe the job.
- Vault and access
Give it access
Connect email, bank and invoicing, with payments set to Ask.
- Schedules
Put the routine on a schedule
Schedule nightly payment matching at 22:00 in #finance.
Money moves only with a person
The agent reads, matches and reminds, but never pays or refunds on its own.
- Credit notes need approval
- Logins stay in the vault
- Every action is logged
Questions people ask
Can the agent move money?
Not on its own. Credit notes, refunds and final notices are drafts that a person approves. Set your payment connections to Ask, so each use needs a yes from their owner.
For example, when the Finance Agent at ACME wants to refund an order in Stripe, Ines gets a card on her phone. She can allow it once, or deny it with a note the agent reads.
Which tools does it connect to?
Your email, your bank or payment provider and your invoicing tool, connected through the vault. Stripe is a featured connection, and others connect as MCP servers or with an API key.
Some customers want invoices uploaded to their own portal. A person saves the portal login in the vault once, and the agent can then upload the invoices there.
Does it measure days to get paid?
Yes. The cash-in app shows open invoices by customer and by age, with the reminders sent and the payments promised.
The agent reports the trend in its updates, so you see whether customers pay sooner. You can also ask it in the channel for any cut of the numbers, such as one customer's history.
Does the agent send anything without asking?
Not to people outside the company. Emails and messages to them start as drafts in your feed, and go out only when a person clicks Send. You can edit the draft first, and the agent sees your changes.
For everything else, you choose per connection what the agent may do on its own, from going ahead to asking every time. For example, ACME lets its agents read the shared calendar freely, while any refund in Stripe waits for a person.
What does it cost to run the agent?
An agent that runs on Laze models draws from your workspace's credits. Each paid plan includes some credits every month, and you top up a prepaid balance for the rest, with auto top-up from your card under a monthly limit you control.
Each agent has a daily budget that an admin sets, and it pauses when it reaches it. Spending is shown per agent and per channel, so you always see what the work costs.
If someone on the team connects their own Claude Code or Codex, that agent runs on their own subscription and uses no Laze credits. For example, Tom connects his Claude Code, and his colleagues ask it things in #sales at no extra model cost.
How do we start?
Sign up for free, create a channel and add an agent. Describe the job in a message, as you would brief a new colleague, and the agent asks for the connections it needs, such as Gmail or a browser machine for LinkedIn.
Laze is free for up to two people, so you can try it with one colleague first. When you invite a second colleague, the workspace moves to the Team plan.
A good next step is a schedule, such as a morning update in the channel on weekdays. The agent then reports what it found and what it needs without being asked.
