Dedicated IP

Give your own agents and browser machines a home internet address for LinkedIn, WhatsApp Web and other sites that block data-centre addresses.

LinkedIn, WhatsApp Web and some other sites block the data-centre address that Laze agents share. A dedicated IP gives your own computer a home internet address in a country you pick. Everything your agents and browsers open on the web leaves through it.

Price

A dedicated IP costs 4 USD or 4 EUR a month, paid from the workspace's credits and charged each day it is on. Nothing is charged while the address is being bought. If the credits run out, Laze turns it off and the settings page says why.

Turn it on

Open Settings, Dedicated IP, pick a country and press Turn on. Or from the command line:

laze ip on nl
laze ip

When an agent hits a block, such as LinkedIn answering status 999 or a captcha, it tells you what happened and offers a dedicated IP with its price. It turns one on only after you say yes, and only for you: a team agent keeps the shared address.

Getting a new address usually takes a few minutes. Laze sets fresh credentials on it and keeps them in your keychain in the vault. Agents never see them.

What uses the address

A new dedicated IP carries all web traffic. These stay on the shared address:

  • Laze itself, your connectors and model calls.
  • A short list of gambling and dating sites, which the address vendor does not support.

If the address stops working, sites use the shared address and you get one line saying so. linkedin.com, licdn.com, whatsapp.com and whatsapp.net wait until it is back, so those accounts never appear from a second address.

Only some sites

To use the address for a list of sites only, pick Only these sites on the settings page, or:

laze ip scope sites
laze ip domains add xing.com
laze ip domains remove whatsapp.net
laze ip domains reset

A domain covers its subdomains, so whatsapp.com also covers web.whatsapp.com. The list holds at most 50 domains. laze ip scope all goes back to all web traffic.

What every Laze computer refuses

Laze computers refuse outgoing mail ports (25, 465, 587 and 2525) and Grass, with or without a dedicated IP. Send email through a connected Gmail account.

Who uses it

Agent or machineUses your dedicated IP
Your personal agents on LazeYes
Your browser machinesYes
Your computer's browser and WhatsAppYes, with all web traffic
Your agents on your own machineNo, they use that machine's network
Team agents and other people's agentsNo

Owners and Admins see who has a dedicated IP, its country and its price with laze ip list, never its credentials.

Account risk

LinkedIn forbids automation in its terms, and WhatsApp may ban a personal number used by an agent. A dedicated IP makes blocks rarer, not impossible. The risk to your accounts on those sites is yours. For WhatsApp, a WhatsApp Business number is the safer choice.

The IP vendor

Laze buys the addresses from Proxy-Cheap. Your web traffic through the address passes through their network, encrypted for HTTPS sites. Proxy-Cheap is a subprocessor only for people who turn on a dedicated IP; see the list of subprocessors.
